The Young Vic are looking for Duty Managers to lead the Front of House team in welcoming audience to our busy and successful theatre.

A registered charity and theatrical powerhouse, the Young Vic is synonymous with inclusivity, accessibility and creativity. We create performances that catalyse debate and are priced accessibly for our audiences, giving 10% of tickets away to those who experience barriers to engaging with the arts. We are deeply rooted in our local communities of Lambeth and Southwark, through Taking Part, at the same time as being internationally recognised for productions made with the world’s finest performers and creative teams. We are also proud to develop the next generation of emerging talent through our Directors Program.

About the role

Our Duty Managers report to the Front of House Manager and are responsible for the safety and comfort of our audience, ensuring Ushers and Head Ushers are inducted and trained to uphold our values and excellent customer experience. This role is both very practical and clerical with a focus on co-ordinating other staff and audience, and responsibility for stock and income reconciliation.

We are keen to hear from candidates that have experience as a Duty Manager or have supervised staff in a busy customer focused environment and who are committed to providing anti-racist environments for all who enter our spaces through inclusive front of house practices.

Salary: £12.32 per hour

Hours: Minimum 4 hours per shift and any hours worked over this will be paid in 15 minute increments. Double time payments will be made on the basis of Public & Bank Holidays or Sunday working. The number of hours available each week will vary depending on the demands of the theatre program
